Promoting Interest in Cultural Aspects of Mental Health

The Society for the Study of Psychiatry and Culture announces its annual call for papers for the Charles Hughes Fellowship in Cultural Psychiatry, an award presented to a graduate student who has an interest in and commitment to cultural psychiatry and mental health. Graduate students in the social sciences who are interested in competing for this award should submit the following documents:

  1. An original unpublished scholarly paper on a topic in cultural psychiatry
  2. A current curriculum vitae
  3. A letter of recommendation from a thesis advisor, dissertation committee member, or research supervisor

The recipient of the Charles Hughes Fellowship will present the paper at the annual meeting in Toronto on May 3-5, 2012. The Fellowship includes registration, travel to the meeting, and lodging in Toronto.
